11 March 2011 (Friday) : Parent Involvement Programme - Cartoon drawing
On 11 Mar, 2011 (Fri), Alicia's mummy, Li Fang, will show the Apple class children about Cartoon-drawing which she loves doing. She will start off by showing the children how she draws 'Doraemon' a popular Japanese cartoon character. The children will then get to colour some cartoon print-outs.
We greatly appreciate Li Fang for taking the time and effort to conduct this activity. The children will learn more about the community and what people do for leisure through your sharing.
18 March 2011 (Friday) : Excursion - Ugly Duckling
The Little Company is staging Hans Christian Anderson's 'The Ugly Duckling', the classic story about a little duckling who looks different. It is an inspirational story about being the odd one out. We will be taking the children to this show on 18 March 2011 Friday 9.00am – 11.30am, which is our scheduled excursion in March. The performance will be held at DBS Art Centre – Home of SRT. Cost for this trip is $20 per child (including admission, SISTIC charge and transportation). 25-26 March 2011 (Friday & Saturady) : Parent-Teacher Meet
The first of our two Parent-Teacher Meets will be held on 25 & 26 March, 2011 (Friday and Saturday).
Meeting procedures:
- You will be receiving your child's progress report via email 1or 2 days before your scheduled meeting date.
- Please go through the report and note your concerns and questions for discussion with the teachers.
- Each meeting will be 20 mins in duration and we will adhere to the timing so that it will not affect the following meetings. We urge that you be punctual for your appointment.
- As all the teachers will be involved in the meetings, there will be no classes on the 25th and 26th March, 2011. Please make plans to leave your child at home as we do not want to have a discussion in the presence of the child.
- Don't forget this important date with your child's teachers and please inform us in advance if you are unable to make the appointment.
- Children who have joined the school for less than a month and those on the Flexi-programme will not be involved in this Parent-Teacher meet and will not receive their progress reports.
Appointment Scheduling Procedures:
- We give parents with more than one child in the school priority in selecting the time slots so that they can secure time slots for more than 1 class back to back. This will ensure that they do not have to make more than 1 trip to the school for the meetings.
- Once the parents with more than 1 child in school have secured their appointments, the rest of the time slot will be opened for selection. Our Administrator used to call parents according to alphabetical order but this year, we request that parents send in thier preferred time slot via email and the appointments will be assigned based on a first-come-first serve basis. Ms Catherine will then inform parents which time has been assigned.
- Staff with children in the school will be the last to be assigned a time slot.
