16th July, 2009 Dear Parents, Excursion – 7th August, 2009 LTA Gallery August is reserved for all things Singapore (our curriculum). As we gear up to celebrate our 44th National Day, the school plans to take the children to the LTA Gallery at Hampshire Road to experience the evolution of Singapore’s land transportation and have a glimpse into our future system. The excursion will be on 7th August, 2009 (Friday) 9.00am – 11.30am. Our children will be guided through a journey; from the past, to the present, then into the future in the 1-hour walkthrough. They will be able to: Catch a glimpse of land transport systems in the world’s major cities as well as Singapore’s own mode of transportations Travel to the past and experience the transportations during our pre-independence days Learn about the key milestones in Singapore’s land transport development and the challenges faced during the nation’s formative years Learn how the LTA manage road usage Be a transport planner in an interactive multi-player game – the Challenge Theatre Enter the future and get a peek of what the transportation landscape might be like in 2030 Please complete the consent form for your child’s participation in this excursion and return the concent form to us by Friday, 24th July, 2009. The cost of this excursion is $5 per child. On the day of the excursion, please dress your child in the school’s T-Shirt, equip him with a water bottle on a sling and comfortable walking shoes. Please ensure that your child is in school by 8.00am if he were to have breakfast in school and no later than 8.30am. The school bus will leave at 9.00am. and return to the school by 11.30am. Half day children will have their lunch before dismissal at 12.30pm and program for full day children will resume after lunch. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
