22nd September, 2009
Dear Parents,
The school’s October excursion is a 2-in-1 affair, celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival as well as experiencing history, in line with our October curriculum theme of historical personal timeline. The excursion is set for 2nd Oct, 2009 Friday from 9.30am – 11.30am and we are going to the Chinatown Heritage Centre (CHC) at 48 Pagoda Street.
The pictures and exhibits at the CHC will reveal stories of the early immigrants of Singapore, allowing our children to go back in time to experience the way of life in pre-war Singapore and learn to appreciate what we have today. It will be an eye-opener for all our children. After touring the CHC, our teachers will take the children on a leisurely walk around Chinatown to experience the lanterns on display for Mid-Autumn Festival before returning to school for lunch.
Please complete the consent form for your child’s participation in this excursion and return the form to us by Monday, 28th September, 2009. The cost of this excursion is $12 per child.
On the day of the excursion, please dress your child in the school’s T-Shirt, cap, equip him with a water bottle on a sling and comfortable walking shoes. Please ensure that your child is in school by 8.00am if he or she was to have breakfast in school and no later than 8.30am. The school bus will leave at 9.00am and return to the school by 11.30am. Half day children will have their lunch before dismissal at 12.30pm and programme for full day children will resume after lunch.
Please also note that we will be celebrating Children’s Day in school with a party on 30 September, 2009. Half day children will be dismissed at 12.30pm and programme for full day children will resume after lunch. The school will be closed on 1st October, 2009 for Children’s Day holiday.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation. We look forward to your favourable reply.
Yours sincerely,
Maria Seow
Principal
